I consider myself somewhat of a fireworks connoisseur!  I’ve witnessed an independence Day fireworks show in at least 5 different states, 2 countries (Canada Day is July 1) and 10 cities.  A few close friends joined Mary and I to witness our first Stamford Connecticut Fireworks display.  It started off with a bang, forgive the pun, and the first minute or two was as spectacular as the finale at most other shows.  I took some picture with my Canon Powershot G9 and was extremely impressed with the results.  These were all shot handheld in a low light situation.  Stamford shoots off the fireworks from a barge over the Long Island Sound.  We were maybe 20 feet from the waters edge, aligned directly center with the barge.  there was a full moon and mainly clear skies.  Check out the pics here: Pics
